I have a further suggestion. What if we ask Nicola to delegate the
name linux.depaul.edu. as a complete zone and have it hosted by the
organization that pays my salary (Neustar, formerly known as UltraDNS).
This would accomplish two things. One, the linux.depaul.edu zone could
be managed separately without direct IS involvement (with oversight I
am sure). Two, it allows me to give something back to depaul in the
way of some service since I've gotten resources from them. In the name
of full disclosure, it might also be useful in some manner for depaul
or the linux community to experiment with the service if someone decides
they like it and want to use it for something else (which would likely
involve a conversation with our friendly local sales person), but frankly
that's a separate issue and it's no shirt off my back if that never
happens.
