Apparently, I am using the exact configuration that doesn't work. B-(

I have ivtv v0.7, kernel v2.6.17, and x86_64.  If I downgrade the
kernel and get the appropriate ivtv version, apparently my instability
will go away...then again, maybe a newer kernel version with a newer
ivtv might work, too.
