This has been a complaint since practically day one (many years now).
It's clear (to me at least :-) it is not going to change any time soon
unless the current implementation is completely replaced or revamped,
which will take someone near the top to dictate this be done.

I too, would like to see something I can access from something other
than Microsoft Windows (and not need to install a couple of unsigned,
very curious looking pieces of software - yuck).

You could encourage your instructor to at least make the MP3 version
available.  I do that for my classes.
