All,

Orbitz.com has several available positions (~2 full time and ~4 intern
part-time) where I work in the 24/7 service operations center, where
extensive *nix, solaris, java, perl, python, bash scripting, javascript,
oracle, mysql, etc. etc. etc. knowledge is always in demand and general
systems skills of all kinds are useful.  They are quite flexible when
dealing with current students' schedules and I can attest that you'd be
hard-pressed to find a better group of people to work with.  The entire
culture of the company is great too, with just enough of a startup feel
still and the all-important open-source-friendly outlook on pretty much
everything technological.  Working in the SOC requires good communication
skills and no fear of answering phones from all sorts of important companies
too, just fyi.  One other cool fact is we're located right in the ogilvie
train station (citibank building) so if you live in the UIC area the
location couldn't get much better.
