We have a great opportunity with a client of ours in Chicago. They offer
a solid benefit package , discretionary bonus (10-20%) and salaries up
to $75,000.
Our client, a Chicago-based trading firm seeks a Software Developer who
wants to make an impact on the business. Essential to the position is to
develop new functionality to existing software as well as to design new
features (enhancements), fundamental for our electronic trading system
and maintain existing applications used by their U.S and European
proprietary business.
You'll have the opportunity to work with traders, financial engineers
and other IT staff. The applications cover a variety of areas which
include; Front-Office Trading, Electronic Trading Systems, Position
Keeping, Back-Office Systems and Exchange Connectivity Interfaces.
We are looking for someone who possesses
* 1 year of experience developing C++ based software or academic
equivalent
* Excellent understanding of the Standard Template Library
(STL).
* Excellent UNIX/Linux skills and SQL skills.
The position requires the ability to diagnose problems and develop
solutions to meet trading and business goals and communicating clearly
with colleagues across disciplines.
The willingness to learn is indispensable
Qualifications
* Minimum 1 year of commercial software development work
experience
* Ability to express oneself clearly and concisely
* Solid troubleshooting skills
* System programming knowledge of Linux and Windows
* Proficient with the use of STL and POSIX threads
* Familiarity with scripting languages (Perl, UNIX Shell,
awk, etc) is required
* Knowledge of version and revision control practices and
Procedures
* Familiarity with web technologies like php, AJAX, a plus.
