There should have been a general link to the mailing list web page
in the footer of the list email.  Visiting that link should get you
to the list interface where you will find an option to email you
your current password (at the very bottom, there is a submit option
to unsubscribe, get a password reminder, etc.

In addition, there is actually an unsubscribe link in the extended
email headers, but few "typical" email users probably know to look
there.  You apparently use gmail.  I'm not that familiar with that
interface, but I'm sure there is a way to view those headers, but
it is probably not the default setting.  Here is what some of them
look like for me (using an old-boy's mailer, Mutt :-):
