Please pencil in (as tentative), a meeting on Friday, January 29, at 1:00 (to 3:00). I was thinking of having this meeting on grad schools...how to look into them, what an MA and/or PhD program requires, how to apply, what to submit, etc. You can never be too soon in your academic career with this information. (And, for seniors and grad students, too.) I think the next one will be on the history major to the workplace, cover letters, resumes, etc. (Good skills for all!) We hope to have some surprises for the Student History Conference in late April, too.</FONT></DIV>

It also includes an application, which I invite you to fill out and return to the History Department. It costs nothing to apply, so if you aren't sure about your eligibility, you can still apply. We have had requests for meetings which discuss academic planning, resume writing, and applications to grad and law schools. I'd be glad to organize these, but want to make sure you're interested and could commit to attending. Because of the new schedule of classes, Fridays tend to be fairly open for meetings, but for many that might mean coming to campus on a work day. So, let me ask you whether you can attend meetings on Fridays and what times would be best for you. Assume that we'll have some food, so that might help.... If you have other ideas about planning or events, please let me know. AT THE VERY LEAST, CONTACT ME ABOUT YOUR INTEREST AND AVAILABILITY ON FRIDAYS.</SPAN><o:p></o:p></P></DIV>
