Exhibits Paid Internship<BR>
<BR>
The Pritzker Military Library is looking for an Exhibits Intern. This is a paid part time internship. The exhibits intern will create potential new content for the PML Citizen Soldier exhibit cases. This includes selecting collections to highlight, selecting items from that collection for inclusion in an exhibit, and writing potential interpretive text for each item. The intern will work at our main library at 104 S. Michigan Ave and also at our remote facility on Berteau Ave.<BR>
<BR>
ESSENTIAL POSITION QUALIFICATIONS<BR>
<BR>
Ø Experience with the creation of interpretive text<BR>
<BR>
Ø Advanced computer orientation skills<BR>
<BR>
Ø Attention to detail<BR>
<BR>
Ø Ability to work in teams and independently<BR>
<BR>
Ø Advanced research skills, including primary and secondary source experience<BR>
<BR>
Ø Knowledge of American history; specifically, military history<BR>
<BR>
Ø Knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel<BR>
<BR>
Ø Excellent written and oral communication skills<BR>
ASSIGNED RESPONSIBLITIES AND DUTIES<BR>
<BR>
Ø Become familiar with the Libraries Archival and Artifact collections<BR>
<BR>
Ø Write a proposal for a future rotation of the Library's Citizen Soldier exhibit<BR>
<BR>
Ø Exhibit proposal will include:<BR>
<BR>
o Specific collections to highlight in the Library's Citizen Soldier exhibit<BR>
<BR>
o Specific objects, photographs, and papers from each collection to be included in the exhibit<BR>
<BR>
o Interpretive text for each item<BR>
<BR>
Ø Assist in the installation of rotating exhibits<BR>
START DATE: June 4th, 2012 End Date: Aug 27th, 2012<BR>
