<p class=MsoNormal>Dear Intrepid Historians,<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>You may take out your pens and write over our previously penciled-in
event. History Club will indeed meet this Friday, January 29, from 1:00
to 3:00 in the Dorothy Day Room (400) of the Richardson Library (schmancy!).
This will be the first of two how-to workshops on what to do with your history
degree after graduation. This one, on graduate and professional schools,
should be helpful to everyone, even if you have no immediate plans to continue your
formal education past graduation. At the very least, you might gain some
insights which can be helpful in the future. And, perhaps, you might be
interested in some options which you may wish to explore more deeply. I
have an informal presentation prepared that is intended to encourage questions
and, hopefully, a few smiles. Best of all, it will give us a chance to
visit with one another!<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>I’ve ordered pizzas and pop so that we can have some
refreshments, too. <span style='font-family:Wingdings'>J</span><o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>The second workshop will explore various job and career
possibilities and provide some suggestions on how to prepare for the job market
and the transition to workplace.<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>Even if you’ve already RSVP’ed, please do so
again. I’d like to get a rough estimate of how many can attend so
that we have enough food for everyone! I’d like to hear back by
Wednesday at 3:00. If you’re not sure, let me know that, too.
I’d rather we have too much than too little!<o:p></o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal><o:p> </o:p></p>
<p class=MsoNormal>I look forward to seeing you soon!<o:p></o:p></p>
