Maureen and All,
 We are also concerned about part 2G: University Evaluations and, related, section 3c. It seems as if we are providing our evaluations of our student teachers. Isn’t this a breach of privacy?Also, part 4c required participating student teachers to “take all reasonable steps to maintain health insurance.” Can we do that? How can we keep track of that?
Does part 4F ii refer to the action research that many of our programs require?

Dear Melissa,
I have updated the letter that CCADE is proposing to send to CPS related to the issues with the proposed contract.  This will give you an idea of the types of things that are in there that, without a discussion of the details, are extremely worrisome to all of us.  Some institutions have signed because CPS has stated that if it is not back Monday, you will not be allowed to have your students enter CPS schools.  So, the goal for Monday would be an extension of the sign date and a date for a meeting with whoever is in charge of this (Barbara Byrd-Bennett, Alicia Winkler - I'm not sure).  When we went through this before, we met directly with Arne Duncan and the then head of HR, which would be Alicia Winkler).

If they insist that we sign (12 days to review is ridiculous), please let me know asap.  I am hoping that you hear from them first thing.
