<div dir="ltr">Dear Anne,<div>Thanks for your e-mail. I appreciate you sending the concerns of CADST along. We did receive them earlier. I believe that we met at the LiveText conference a few years ago. I have attached a draft letter that the deans are writing to CPS related to issues with the proposed contract. The NIEU attorney is attempting to reach the CPS lawyer (who was out last week) today to get more time to review the contract. In some instances, it does not appear that we are reading the contract in the same manner but regardless, they need clarification.</div>
<div><br></div><div>I am not sure what you mean when you say that CADST is considered "an arm" of CCADE. You may know that several years ago, there were some tensions between CCADE and CADST because some members of CADST were speaking to CPS officials without their respective deans being in the loop. This caused some letters to go back and forth to clarify the role of CADS. I appreciate your writing to me as it is imperative that the deans know the views of CADST while working with CPS on major issues. Hopefully, we can work collaboratively on issues of concern and on sharing information. If you like, I can pool the CCADE group about having a member of CADST come to the CCADE meeting once a semester to report on CADST work and to hear about any issues that are important to the group. </div>
<div><br></div><div>If you would like to provide feedback on the deans' letter. Please feel free. I hope to update the deans today about the situation with the contract.</div><div><br></div><div>Sincerely,</div><div>

I will be the chair of the CADST group for the upcoming school year. Since the CPS contract was sent out I have been bombarded with concerns about this contract and the impact it will have on our teacher candidates from directors of the colleges and universities
in our group. The CADST group, Chicago Area Directors of Student Teaching, is considered an arm of the CCADE group and I was hoping the executive committee could meet with you or chat about these concerns. I asked Kate Liston from DePaul to summarize some
of the concerns that we have heard from the directors of student teaching and I thought I would share them with you.
