International Education/Event Assistant Job Description:
The Education/Event Assistant will report to and support the ISPCAN
Executive Director (1), and also support the Conference and Congress
Manager (2) with events (international congresses and conferences).
This position will support some general international projects,
programs
and organizational work, but largely focus on the area of educational
events and training, as well as related fundraising, sponsorship and
scholarships.
Specific Duties would include:
(1) Support to Executive Director (av. 10 hours per week) -
International Communications, Executive Council (Board of Directors)
Support, International Travel Arrangements, Teleconferences, General
Support (organizational, fundraising, programs, human resources/
personnel).
(2) Support to Congress/Conference Manager (av. 24 hours per
week)
- Event Support (coordination and documentation/resources), Event
Marketing/Promotional Materials Development & Production, Delegate
Registration Processing/Reports, Speaker Database & Coordination,
On-line Abstract Process and Award Winner Coordination,
Communications,
Travel/Hotel Arrangements, Web Searches (research), Event Evaluation
Coordination, Sponsorship Coordination
(3) General Support (av. 6 hours per week) - Accounting Support,
Training/Resource & Research Programs Support, Fundraising &
Scholarship
Support, Personnel Support with Meetings & Minutes
(Board level support: Executive Council and Congress/Conference
Committee)
Organization: ISPCAN is a nonprofit (non-governmental) professional
organization, established in 1977, focused on providing education,
research, practical training and information to protect children from
abuse and neglect worldwide. A multidisciplinary organization, ISPCAN
members in nearly 120 countries work in areas of medicine, mental
health, law, law enforcement, social services, education, sociology,
research, advocacy, NGO leadership, government and ministry/clergy.
This is an excellent opportunity for International NGO Experience!
The International Secretariat will be located in West Chicago,
Illinois as of 15 December, 2005.
Interviews will be held at the current office in Carol Stream,
Illinois.
Requirements for Position: Bachelor's degree or equivalent. Computer
experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, Access) plus Internet. Strong
communication (verbal & written) skills and attention to detail.
Prior
experience with nonprofit associations, desktop publishing, foreign
language expertise (Spanish or Portuguese preferred, not required) and
international experience - strong advantages. Flexible and positive
team attitude, willingness to work on multiple programs, using a
variety
of skills.
Salary Range: $23,500-25,000. JOB INQUIRY DEADLINE: 30 NOVEMBER
