Dear Intrepid Historians!

Please join us for the LAST History Club meeting of the year, one week
from today, on Friday, June 1, at 3:30 in the Richardson Library, room
309.

Dr. Scott Bucking will be talking about King Tut. And, as promised
(threatened?), our kitschy title is:

"I Want My Mummy: The Life and Death of the Boy King, Tutankhamun."

(Don't blame the messenger...Dr. Bucking offered that one up....) He
has also sent along two references so that you can get some background
on the talk:

(1) National Geographic News, March 8, 2005, KING TUT NOT MURDERED
VIOLENTLY, CT SCANS SHOW,
http://news.nationalgeographic.com/news/2005/03/0308_050308_kingtutmurde
r.html

(2) The Plateau, March 8, 2005, PRESS RELEASE: TUTANKHAMUN CT SCAN,
http://www.guardians.net/hawass/press_release_tutankhamun_ct_scan_result
s.htm

We will also have our second annual summer recommended reading list,
suitable for leisurely, but historical reads at the sides of bath tubs,
pools, beaches, and other bodies of water. (On the banks of the Nile,
perhaps?)

So put June 1st on your calendar....

See you there and bring a friend!
