**PLEASE FORWARD WIDELY**

Hello,

I'm writing to inform you of a scholarship opportunity geared towards
social justice-oriented students. The Richard J. Meister Scholarship is
an award of $1,500 for DePaul University students for the 2008-2009
academic year. All DePaul students are eligible, with a special
consideration for students ages 25 and older.

Steans Center programs are built on the premise that single experiences
in service to the community, however powerful, are insufficient to embed
the ideas, values and habits of an engaged citizen. The Richard J.
Meisr scholarship lies in the tradition of DePaul scholars who
critically reflect on societal issues and problem solving methods to
achieve societal goals and engage in service within the local and/or
global community, and encourages students to continue doing so
throughout their lives.

Students can be nominated by a faculty or staff member, or submit an
application themselves. If you plan to nominate someone, you may do so
by sending the student's name and email to: rtiffe at depaul.edu

If you plan to apply as a student, please visit our website at:
http://cbsl.depaul.edu/students/scholarships/meister.asp

Spring break is a perfect opportunity to work on this application, as
the DEADLINE IS APRIL 4th!

Please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions or concerns.
Good luck with finals!

Best,
Raechel Tiffe
