Dear Intrepid Historians,

This is an important opportunity, co-hosted by the History Department. Next Tuesday and Thursday, Nov. 9 and 11, we will sponsor two films on the fall of the Berlin Wall and the reunification of Germany. After the Nov. 11 film, there will be a talk by diplomat J.D. Bindenagel, a DePaul administrator, who helped negotiate the reunification treaty.

And, don't forget the open house meet-and-greet on Nov. 12, from 3:00-4:30.

We will have a good deal of food at each!

Please RSVP to me.

Hello everybody,

To commemorate the 20th anniversary of German reunification, the Goethe Institut, in conjunction with a number of universities around town, has put together a film series titled "Made in West/East Germany."

DePaul is hosting screenings on 9 and 11 November. On 11 November, DePaul's very own JD Bindenagel will also attend and reflect on aspects of the process of reunification 20 years ago. At the time he was U.S. deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy in Berlin, and helped negotiate the reunification of Germany.

I'd appreciate it if you could announce these events to your classes. See attached flyer for time and place of the screenings. Hard copies of the flyer will also be placed in your mailboxes.

Best,
Julia
