Dear Intrepid Historians,

 
Welcome to the beginning of the academic year!  Your history faculty and
staff hope you have a wonderful and, indeed, truly historic year!
 
What, you may well ask, would help you start this quarter on the path of
wonder and history?  Well, this is where this message becomes
important....
 
Please be our guest at an afternoon meet-and-greet on Friday, October 1,
between 3:00 and 4:30 in the department hallway on the fourth floor of
SAC.  We will have pizza, refreshments, and some give aways, too.  Oh,
and you will have the opportunity to chat with your favorite historians,
too!  Don't be shy!  And, bring a friend or two!
 
Then, join Father Ed Udovic and the library staff for a visit to the
DePaul archives on Friday, October 29!  Father Ed is the library
director and a member of the History Department...and he is a skilled
eBay-er.  He will talk about some of his more interesting acquisitions
he secured for our library's special collections, including a good deal
of St. Vincent material.  I'll send more information soon, but be sure
to reserve the date!
 
See?!  A great start to the year, something to do on late Friday
afternoons, good food, good conversation, and history!
 
RSVP to me ASAP so that we can order the food and pop for next Friday!
