[Grad_history_students] IMPORTANT History News!!!!

Dear Intrepid Historians,

 

There are a few important pieces of information to pass on....  Please
note them!

 

1)      This Friday, April 29, all day (or, rather, from 8:30-6:00), is
our Seventh Annual Student History Conference on the third floor of the
Student Center (rooms 314 and their environs).  If you are not
presenting this year, please come to support your peers and the
program...and, perhaps, to catch of glimpse of what you may be doing
next year (hint, hint).

2)      For a good part of the day, this Friday at the conference, the
Career Office will be staffing a table for our majors....  They call
this "drive-through" resume services....  They will assist you with your
resume, and you can make an appointment for other career-related
services at that time.  Do take advantage of this, between sessions of
the conference.... 

3)      If you have been added into Phi Alpha Theta, remember that you
shld be at the conference by 5:00 for the concluding ceremonies (not
quite Olympian, but cool nonetheless).  Also, remember to "pay your
dues" in the department offices (see Onie Green-Givens).

4)      PLEASE MARK YOUR CALENDARS....  On Friday, May 13, we have
arranged a History Club meeting with local archivists to talk about
careers in archival work.  I'll provide more information in early May,
but save the date from now.  It will be from 3:00-ish to 5:00....
