Subject: IMPORTANT announcement!

Dear Intrepid Historians,

Next week, Tuesday, February 1, at 7:00 p.m., the History Department is co-hosting a lecture by Cuban scholar Miguel Barnet. This is a truly unique opportunity, as Dr. Barnet is a first-rate author of both fiction and non-fiction, a recipient of numerous awards, and an engaging speaker. He is also making a rare trip to Chicago during this trip to the United States. See attached for details. Please make a commitment to come and meet Dr. Barnet.

Soon, you will be receiving another note regarding the History honors association Phi Alpha Theta, the seventh annual Student History Conference (whether you present or not, save the date...Friday, April 29, all day), and History Club.

Over and out, Dr. B
