Pathfinder International is a private voluntary non-profit
organization
working in reproductive health. It has programs in 20 countries
including
India. Programs in India are located in Bihar, Delhi, Karnataka and
Maharashtra. Applications are invited from interested candidates for
the
following positions in Pathfinder's programs in Maharashtra, Karnataka,
and
Delhi.

A. HIV/AIDS Program, Maharashtra:

Pathfinder is embarking on a five-year program in Maharashtra, to stem
the
transmission of HIV/AIDS in 10 districts of Maharashtra. Supported by
the Bill
and Melinda Gates Foundation, this program will address sex workers
and
clients with behaviour change communication and treatment for sexually
transmitted infections. These positions will be based in Pune.

A good understanding of the socio-cultural background of Maharashtra,
and a
working knowledge of Marathi is very desirable. Extensive travel will
be
required.

1. Project Director
Reports to Deputy Country Representative. Is responsible for program
implementation and results; building and motivating a strong team;
providing
strategic vision and technical oversight to the team; working closely
with
other organizations both public and private to ensure that program
activities
are well coordinated with other HIV prevention program in the state;
represent
Pathfinder at the state level on all issues related to its HIV/AIDS
programs;
and ensure documentation and dissemination of program processes and
results.

Applicants must be postgraduates in community medicine / public health
/
management or other relevant discipline with a minimum of 15 years
work
experience, of which 5 years should have been as head of an institution
or
project, implementing community based HIV/AIDS programs.

2. Director - Community Outreach
Reports to the Project Director. Is responsible for identifying
geographical
areas where interventions with high risk groups could most effectively
be
located; conducting situational analyses; identifying NGOs who can work
on
behaviour change interventions with sex workers and clients; building
NGO
capacity to design, implement and monitor intervention programs;
curriculum
development and training of project staff and health workers;
developing
strategies for community mobilization and involvement in program
activities;
and ensuring the overall effectiveness of the community outreach
program.

Applicants must be postgraduates in social sciences / management or
other
relevant discipline with a minimum of 10 years experience, of which 5
years
should have been in NGO programs focused on community based behaviour
change
intervention programs in health and in NGO capacity building. Previous
experience with HIV prevention and care work is desirable.

3. Project Officers - Community Outreach and Training
Reports to the Director- Community Outreach. Is responsible for
ensuring that
NGO partners effectively identify and reach large numbers of sex
workers and
their clients with communication for behaviour change; training NGO
partners
and providing supportive supervision through a process of close and
constant
contact and field visits; tracking performance and helping partners to
take
corrective action; assisting NGO partners to build linkages with other
organizations at the district and state level so that prevention and
care
programs are effective; supporting NGO partners in advocacy activities
at the
district level.

Applicants should be graduates in social sciences or other relevant
discipline

with 5 years as a project manager of a community based health program,
with
experience of leading a team of field workers, planning and monitoring
their
work, and training them for performance improvement. Strong experience
in one
of more of the following is desired: reaching vulnerable groups,
training,
community mobilization, community based HIV prevention programs, care
and
support for positive people.

4. Project Officer - STI Program
Reports to the Director- STI Programs. Is responsible for ensuring that
the
network of private providers linked to the program are fully utilized
by
project beneficiaries; the quality of care provided by these clinics is
high;
clinicians receive continuing training and technical updates; clinic
data is
gathered, analyzed and performance data fed back to providers with
guidance
for corrective action; and project provided drugs are utilized as
intended and
always available as required.

Applicants should hold a M.B.B.S degree with at least 5 years of
clinical
experience in sexually transmitted diseases. Experience of service
delivery in
a public health program/ training is desirable.

5. Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist
Reports to the Advisor Evaluation and Monitoring. Assists in designing
and
conducting formative research; gathering qualitative and quantitative
baseline
data, interim and end-line data; developing management information
systems and
forms for the project; collating all project data, analyzing it and
feeding it
back to project staff and partners to enable timely performance review
and
corrective action.

Applicants should be post graduates in epidemiology / demography /
statistics
/ public health or other relevant discipline and have at least 3 years
experience in both quantitative and participatory qualitative research
methods
and in the monitoring function of HIV prevention programs. Mastery of
computer
packages for data management / analysis is essential.

6. Data Entry Assistant
Reports to the Monitoring and Evaluation Specialist. Is responsible for
timely
maintenance of MIES and project data bases and for rendering
secretarial and
administrative support to the Monitoring and Evaluation Unit.

Applicants should be graduates with at least 3 years of experience in
data
entry, data management and primary data analysis using software.

7. Office Manager
Reports to the Project Director. Is responsible for ensuring that the
office
runs smoothly, ensures that all office communications systems run
smoothly and
that papers and documents are classified and retrieved effectively, the
upkeep
and maintenance of the office, for filing, receipt and dispatch of
correspondence, routine personnel administration including
timekeeping,
attendance, and leave administration, liaison with suppliers,
procurement and
maintenance of assets and supplies, and providing administrative and
secretarial assistance to the Project Director.

Applicants should be graduates with at least 5 years experience of the
nature
described above.

8. Project Accountant
Reports to the Project Director. Is responsible for developing annual
budgets;
monitoring on budget utilization; forecasting funds requirements;
disbursing
and accounting for project funds; adhering to Pathfinder established
budgeting, accounting and financial reporting and control systems;
adhering to
all statutory requirements with respect to taxes; deduction of and
accounting
for taxes; facilitating the smooth conduct of statutory audits;
assisting in
conducting financial and administrative reviews of sub-grants and
contracts;
monitoring closely the utilization of funds by sub-grantees and
contractors;
assisting sub-grantees to develop prudent financial and accounting
systems;
and organizing period audits of sub-grants and sub-contracts.

Applicants should be professionally qualified accountants with a
minimum of 10
years of experience in the NGO sector. Experience with use of Tally is
desirable.

9. Accounts Assistant
Reports to the Project Accountant. Is responsible for voucher
examination;
maintenance of books of account; handling and accounting for petty
cash;
monthly review and tracking of use of funds by sub-grantees and
sub-contractors; providing administrative and secretarial assistance to
the
Accounting Unit.

Applicants should be graduates in commerce with a minimum of 5 years
experience in the functions described above.

10. Administrative Assistants
Is responsible for providing administrative and secretarial support in
the
project office. Strong computer skills and the ability to draft
independently
are important. 3 years experience in a similar job is required.

B. Reproductive Health Program, Karnataka:

Pathfinder is engaged in improving access to and quality of essential
reproductive health services in 7 districts of north Karnataka. The
positions
will be based in Belgaum.

11. Project Officer
Reports to the Program Director, Karnataka. Is responsible for ensuring
that
training programs are of high quality, private providers linked to the
program
are fully utilized by project beneficiaries; quality of care provided
by
provider clinics is high; clinicians receive continuing training and
technical
updates; and clinic data is gathered, analysed and performance data fed
back
to
providers with guidance for corrective action.

Applicants should hold a post graduate degree in gynaecology. At least
5 years
of clinical experience in gynaecology, experience of service delivery
in a
public health program/ training skills is desirable. Extensive travel

12. Project Accountant
Reports to the Program Director, Karnataka. Is responsible for
developing
annual budgets; monitoring budget utilization; forecasting funds
requirements;
disbursing and accounting for project funds; adhering to Pathfinder
established budgeting, accounting and financial reporting and control
systems;

technical support to its state programs. Positions in Delhi are:

13. Grants and Contracts Manager
Reports to the Deputy Country Representative. Is responsible for
drawing
up/finalizing sub-grant and contract provisions and documents including
review
of budgets; reviewing periodic reports to ensure compliance with all
sub-grant
and contract provisions; forecasting funds requirements of sub-grantees
and
sub-contractors; tracking utilization of funds, and ensuring that funds
are
made available in a timely fashion; and periodic and timely reporting
to
Pathfinder
management on all grant and contract issues.

Applicants should have 10 years of experience in budgeting and
contracting,
with strong computer and drafting skills. Experience in the NGO sector
is
desirable.

14. Administrative Assistants
Requirements as at 10 above.

General Requirements:
Fluency in written and spoken English, and complete computer literacy
are
essential for all positions. Attractive salary comparable with that in
similar
