"The Sinking of the Eastland:
America's Forgotten Tragedy"

Sunday, February 27, 2:00 p.m.
The excursion steamer Eastland was filled with Western Electric
Company
employees and their families when it rolled over in the Chicago River
on
the morning of July 24, 1915. More than 800 people lost their lives
within
a few feet of shore in one of the worst maritime disasters in American
history. As part of our continuing author series, Jay Bonansinga will
discuss his new book on the tragedy with a signing to follow.
