Dear History students,

The Chicago History Museum is pleased to announce an exciting fellowship program for minority college students completing their sophomore or junior year. The Josephine Baskin Minow Fellowship for Achievement in American History is a competitive award that recognizes superior academic achievement by a Chicago-area college student. This fellowship, which honors Mrs. Josephine Baskin Minow, a life trustee of the Chicago History Museum, is made possible by the generous support of Mrs. Minow’s family.

The fellowship is designed to introduce minority college students to a career in history museums and to provide practical experience in museum work. I've attached a fact sheet for potential candidates; you are encouraged to apply by February 28, 2011.

Please feel free to direct questions to D. Lynn McRainey at 312-799-2150 or by e-mail, mcrainey at chicagohistory.org.

Sincerely,

Prof. Amy Tyson
