Subject: Graduate Student Diversity Discussion Group
Hello Campus Partners,
The Center for Intercultural Programs has started a pilot program for graduate students who are interested in diversity and social justice issues. Our monthly Graduate Student Diversity Discussion Group sessions will feature a writer whose work will shape what we hope will be a critical conversation about the ways that culture shapes/impacts students' education, professional goals and commitment to ending oppression in all of its forms.
Please send this email and flyer to any students you think might be interested in attending our first session featuring a discussion about William Jelani Cobb, author of The Substance of Hope: Barack Obama and the Paradox of Progress.
Students who RSVP for the event will receive a short excerpt from Cobb's book that will guide the discussion. However, we also hope that this Group will provide students a space to network and share their research interests as well as ask questions and seek support!
If students have any questions, please do not hesitate to send them my contact information.
Thanks,
Katrina M. Caldwell, Ph.D.
