Subject: Seeking interns for WTTW
Hi,
This message is to announce a fall internship opportunity. Please
share this with students or recent graduates of your History department.
WTTW is a non-profit public television (PBS) station in Chicago. Our
Local Production Department produces television documentaries focusing
on local history and architecture, as well as a weekly segment called
"Ask Geoffrey" for the public affairs television program Chicago
Tonight. While we are a production facility, this internship is geared
towards students who enjoy research and Chicago history, and does not
pertain to any technical aspects of television production. Typical
internship assignments require in-depth research on elements of Chicago
history and the acquisition of images and articles, as well as
interviews to answer questions sent in by our Chicago Tonight viewers.
Research is done at WTTW studios, Chicago History Museum, libraries, and
more. Interns will work with writer, producer, and host Geoffrey Baer.
This internship may be taken for course credit and is unpaid. It is
available to current students and graduates who are within one year of
their graduation. Interviews will begin the week of August 29th and
through the first two weeks of September, so interested candidates
should get their resumes and cover letters in as soon as possible.
Resumes and cover letters may be sent directly to my attention or
through our website. The link is:
http://www.wttw.com/main.taf?p=7,7,1,100
The internship is named: "Chicago-area Architecture and History with
Geoffrey Baer" and that should be included in the subject line if
candidates choose to submit their information electronically. Detailed
information regarding this internship is on the website.
If there are any questions regarding this opportunity, WTTW's internship
policy, or how to apply, please contact me.
Thank you in advance, for your assistance communicating this opportunity
to perspective intern candidates at your school!
