Greetings History Enthusiasts,
I have some exciting and fun news. Friday, October 2nd is the date of the History Department's fall Field trip. This year we will be traveling to Fishers, Indiana, to spend the day at Conner Prairie Interactive History Park--a living history museum that interprets 19th century American culture: https://www.connerprairie.org
Don't miss out on this great opportunity to see Conner Prairie's live historical interpretation. Whether you come as a critic or as an enthusiast, this field trip is first-come, first serve.
If you would like to reserve spaces for yourself please write Prof. Tyson at atyson2 at depaul.edu by Monday, September 21st. (Pending space, you may also reserve a spot for another DePaul guest--I'll let you know once reservations are in, but do let me know if you'd like to reserve a second seat in your initial email.)
_________
DETAILS:
We'll be going to Conner Prairie in style; the History Department has graciously offered to pay the cost of a 55-person Charter Bus. All you will have to pay is the cost of your group admission ticket ($10.50) and your meals for the day.
This is an all-day event. On Friday October 2nd, we will meet at 8 AM in the SAC pit, and will board the charter bus by 8:15. We will arrive at Conner Prairie around 11:15 where we will eat lunch and spend the rest of the day touring the park--self-guided tours only (i.e. we'll not be walking around in a group of 55 :-). We'll head back to Chicago at around 5PM, aiming for an 8PM arrival.
Remember to write Prof. Amy Tyson ASAP if you would like to reserve a space. Hurry!
Cheers,
Prof. Amy Tyson
