Hi Onie,

The Career Center received the following volunteer opportunities, which
do not qualify as internships, but wanted to make them available to
students.  I thought I would share them with you, since they are history
related.  Let me know if you have any questions.

Pritzker Military Library- Saturday Main Collections Support

We are looking for volunteers to come in on Saturdays from 10-4pm. This
position is to provide staff and patron assistance in the areas of
shelving, shelf reading, collection processing and more.

This job will also entail: Assisting patrons with circulation and
research needs, desk support, and other duties as assigned.

Volunteer at Bonaventure House!

The Alexian Brothers Bonaventure House, located in the Lakeview
neighborhood of Chicago, is seeking tutor(s) who can work one-on-one
with residents and former residents to assist in preparation for the GED
exam.

Subjects that we are looking for help with include writing, social
studies/U.S. Constitution, and math. Math help is usually the area of
biggest ongoing need. Previous experience with teaching or tutoring is
preferred, and solid knowledge of the subject area(s) you would like to
tutor is a must. This is a great opportunity to help someone achieve
their goals!

The tutor would be asked to meet once or twice weekly with the resident
over the next few months before the GED exam. Scheduling is flexible
although availability during weekday business hours is preferred.

About us:

The Alexian Brothers Bonaventure House is transitional living facility
for men and women who are living with HIV/AIDS and who are either
homeless or at risk of becoming homeless at time of admission. Our
program provides residents with a home, comprehensive services, and
spiritual care, with the goal of helping residents become independent
and self-sufficient. Seventy percent of residents graduate to
independent living within their 24-month stay at the house. To learn
